SK plans to ally with the Chinese digital map developer Maxwell in early November 2005 for the provision of telematics solutions and LBS (Location-based Services). Besides the expectation of selling local-based telematics solutions and software in Shanghai and Beijing in 2006, SK has been negotiating with Chinese mobile operators, such as China Mobile and China Unicom, for the Chinese telematics market.
